At a recent presentation I attended by Patty Gurney, Community Advocate for Nevada’s Aging and Disability Services Division, part of the Department of Health and Human Services, I was pleasantly surprised to hear about the wealth of services available to seniors in our community.

Senior housing is finally getting the attention it deserves through a unique partnership between medicine, construction, and academia. University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Architecture is collaborating with the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health to design residences that accommodate the needs of seniors. Those who benefit from their work to date include residents of Las Ventanas Senior Living Community in Summerlin.

Welcome to the Foundation Assisting Seniors first Informational Blog. Our mission is to provide timely, accurate information on senior living, that includes finance, technology, lifestyle and medicine.
