The Foundation Assisting Seniors' (formerly the Minuteman Foundation) mission is to fund services specifically designed to meet, in a significant manner, the physical or social needs of elderly persons. All volunteers are currently members of the following organizations:

• Community Service Group (CSG) (Phone 614-5862) at Sun City Anthem, Henderson
• Neighbors Assisting Neighbors (NAN) (Phone 622-7709) at Solera at Anthem, Henderson
• Seniors Assisting Seniors,  (Phone 981-3149) Sun City Aliante, North Las Vegas

Residents wishing to avail themselves of services:

• Seniors Assisting Seniors 981-3149

Services may include:

• Transportation: We will drive you to the local market or your medical provider
• Equipment: We can loan you (on a temporary basis) a wheelchair, walker, or other durable medical equipment
• Home Maintenance: We can assist you in minor home maintenance chores such as:
  • Cleaning or replacing overhead air filters
  • Replacing smoke alarm batteries
  • Changing overhead light bulbs
• Home Assistance: Resource Directory of information on fee-based, discount, and many other services available to seniors. Volunteers will also shop & deliver groceries or medication to residents who are temporarily homebound.
• Support Groups: The Foundation sponsors several support groups to assist the residents of Sun City Anthem, Solera at Anthem. These groups are:
  • Living “Well” with Disabilities (physical mobility)
  • Alzheimer’s Caregivers
  • Bereavement (non denominational)
  • One on one guidance through Jewish bereavement protocol
  • Friends of Bill W. (for recovering alcoholics)
  • Home Caregivers (for those caring for a loved one at home)

You can make a difference!

As a relatively new entity on the scene, area residents may now turn to the Foundation Assisting Seniors to make their philanthropic giving as effective as possible. We are a public charity, not a private foundation, serving thousands of people who share a common concern—improving the quality of life in the community.

Individuals, families, businesses and organizations create permanent charitable funds that help our region meet the challenges of changing times. The Foundation Assisting Seniors will invest and administer these funds. We will then use the distributions to award grants each year to many of the humanitarian, educational and cultural organizations in this remarkable region we call home.

IRS Tax Exemption Letters

The IRS has issued a ruling period letter to The Minuteman Foundation, Inc. dated March 7, 2003 granting a tax exempt status to the Foundation.

"...we have determined you are exempt from federal income tax under section 501 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501 (c) (3)."

The IRS issued a final determination letter of confirmation dated, January 7,2007 stating :

"...indicate you are not a private foundation within the meaning of section 509 (a)..."
